Investment Shapes the World more than Charity.
Think about that. Invest in lives, don't merely hand over $50 and be done with them. You can change a life by simply investing a smile, a hug, an encouraging word. Never underestimate the power of simplicity. Investment changes lives.

I've been given Royalty.
God shape me. Mold me. My one desire is You. Take away the ugly things and transform my mind and spirit. Be my strength in every difficult situation and my very present comfort in time of need. Be my first call and not my last. Be my passion and not my tradition. Be my sanity in confusion. Be my all in all.
When the enemy attacks me in all the "right" places, be the answer - be the victor. I know that just as You conquered the grave, You have placed that same power inside of me. Please remind me constantly of the access I have to that authority. Give me Your confidence.

Showers of... I don't even know.
Well, when it rains it pours...
I am so very thankful for a faithful God. In times where it's hard for my mind to even go towards the bad, because it overwhelms me, He knows how to comfort. He knows how to bring peace. He knows how to love me.
So coming from a big family, I guess it constitutes us having so much drama. I don't mean family drama, like tiffs between siblings and such. I mean life drama, the kind that leaves a mark. The kind that can really skew an outlook on life. The kind that taints a person's meaning in life. The kind you can only bear if God is involved.
God, be our strength.
God, be our refuge.
God, be our comfort.
God, be our provider.
God, be our truth.

Unconditioned Beauty.
Picture this. A uniquely beauty woman enraptured in the embrace of a tall, handsome man. What comes to mind? A petite, skinny dame with a muscular super model gent? No.
Picture this. A short woman with a larger build, beautiful blue eyes, and a contagious smile. She is wrapped in the the arms of a tall, somewhat lanky man with a bit of scruff around the chin, very handsome. That's what I call unconditioned beauty.
Picture this. Love that sees no size, shape, nor is concerned with the culturally conditioned beauty. Love that sees only the inner beauty, and through that falls madly for the outward gem. That's a love that lasts.

Heart-to-Hearts
I love getting to know the people around me better. When we delve into real life issues, it helps me get to know my friends better. I had a heart-to-heart last night with two of my guy friends about the dynamic of male/female relationships. It was so good to get their insight.
One day I hope and honestly believe that I will marry my best friend. But you see that makes things tricky.... Although it's a great idea (and one I'll hold on too until further notice), it is difficult to take a friendship from platonic to romantic without the fear of awkwardness that could incur if one side does not feel the same. The dilemma becomes do you run the risk of ruining a friendship to get the internal feelings off your chest, or do you wait. Do you wait to see if the other will ever say something? Do you wait to see if it just naturally goes there? Do you simply continue to torture your insides with the not knowing? Well, maybe so. Maybe it's best to let things come naturally. Like it's stated in 'He Just Not That Into You', if a guy is interested he will let you know. So if he wants to make it happen he will, and if he's not... well then, he's just not interest. Plain and simple.
Ladies, how do you change a mindset? Since your mind has already 'gone there', how do you train it to withdraw from the feelings it's been accustomed to having. How do you just shut them off? Is that even possible, or do you have to live one day at a time in hopes that the feelings will go away one day?
Isn't it silly how we can allow things like this to consume, when relationships are solely meant to enhance life? We get in our own way of happiness so many times.
I'm so glad that I don't have to worry, because God is the keeper of my heart. He comforts, guides and loves me better than an man I could hope for.

Fall. fAll. faLL. FalL. I just love FALL.
There's not much to not love about the season of Autumn. The weather is gorgeous, the leaves are changing into lovely golden, orange tones. It's just the beginning of scarf and jacket season, what's not to love about that? When Fall comes, so does change. There's just something in the air.
During the Fall season, I tend to be in a very contemplative mood. Even though I'm out of school, I still seem to think in terms of semesters or school years. So when most are thinking of January as the beginning of a new year, I tend to think as September as the "new year". I begin to think through my life and see where things have changed over the past year and where things can change for the coming year. I've begun a new workout lifestyle and am loving it. I've decided to get fit. Not only that, I am striving for a healthier eating pattern as well. I am thoroughly enjoying this new step. It feel so good to really commit this time.
I feel more focused lately. Focused on ways to really shape my life, to allow God to mold my heart and will. I think I'm really tapping into the whole maturing process, as some would say. I'm at a place in my life where things could really escalate or completely change directions, really. I have an amazing job where I could potentially create a great career for myself. I have stepped into Hotel Sales & Catering. My bosses are incredible, the company rocks and I have become kind of attached to this place. I am not much for "job hopping"; I'm more of a loyal kind of worker, which can be a blessing and curse.
I have also moved further north into a great, thriving area. It's near work, near many lovely eateries, near tons of shopping, near a great church and best of all near my best friend. Actually she lives with me. ;)
Currently, I am involved in the start-up of 2 nonprofit organizations. One of which I have been involved with for 3 years and have loved every minute of it. The other, my team and I are working very diligently to expedite the launch within the next year and a half. This is where my heart really lies. This is where I come alive, where I know I'm ultimately supposed to be.
My dilemma is the war between remaining loyal to my business or loyal to myself. I enjoy where I am in my life, but I also know that I am called to more... much more. I desire the adventure of life and know that that is only found in working for my God.
All of that to say, I am at a crossroads in life. Just trying to figure out the right time to launch the next phase of my life. Not just the time, but the way and the perfect avenue of which to take. I know the answers will come. Not worried, just anxious to make the most of the phase I'm in now. I desire to gain everything I need to while in this season, to make the most of everyday and every situation. But watch out world, I can feel a change is comin'!!! :-)
